We are thrilled to announce that the CORTIR III Mid-Term Seminar in Copenhagen was a big success! With participants from across the wind energy industry, this gathering provided a dynamic platform for exchanging innovative ideas, sharing project updates, and establishing key milestones for the next phase of CORTIR III.
The main objective of the project is to deliver more reliable wind turbine blades with extended lifetimes, thereby lowering Operational Expenditure (OPEX) and optimizing Annual Energy Production (AEP). The seminar emphasized key objectives: Validation Process for Blade Reliability. Exploring how global blade responses influence local responses and failure modes, leading to a method for aligning expectations and responsibilities between stakeholders. Realistic Lifetime Estimations: Ensuring accurate predictions of blade lifetimes, identifying critical design areas, and fostering innovation in blade design to meet 30-year operational goals. Reliability and Risk-based maintenance strategies: Identify critical areas of wind turbine blades prone to failure. Optimize resource allocation to reduce unplanned downtime and extend blade lifetimes. A big thank you to the 25 partners representing 12 WTO´s/IPP´s who attended and enriched the discussions. Your insights were invaluable in shaping the future of the project. We also extend special thanks to the speakers who led impactful workshops and panel discussions, and to the colleagues from RES, who joined us in celebrating this milestone. Together, we are paving the way for a stronger, more sustainable wind energy future.
