​Ever since Bladena was founded on the groundbreaking research that wind turbine blade failures can be easier prevented and forecasted, we have been helping wind turbine owners, insurance and other leading players in the wind industry minimize risk of blade failures. 
We are able to minimize the risk of loss of AEP by finding the root cause to blade failures and protect the most important assets of our customers' businesses.

  • ​Bladena celebrates its 10th year anniversary.
  • Bladena is expanding its markets by having more local partnerships with highly talented sales partners and certified Bladena Installers in Europe and US.
  • Bladena has positioned itself as the leading expert in blades in the wind industry.
  • Bladena moves into brand new office in Copenhagen as a result of the increasing growth.
  • Bladena kick-off a two year project that innovates a retrofit solution for blades and develops a software tool to strengthen ISPs' market position called CORTIR II funded by EUDP.

  • ​Bladena begins 2020 by building strong businesses with key collaborations in Europe.  
  • The Blade Handbook is nominated as one of the finalists of receiving a Danish Design Award 2020.
  • Bladena celebrates great business accomplishments by presenting a new website and increasing the number of staff members.

  • A milestone has been reached and the RATZ project is finalized after 3 years of hard work. Having completed two major research projects (RATZ and LEX), Bladena has been successful to continue the collaboration with EUDP and 22 companies in a new 2-years project called CORTIR. As a result of the CORTIR project a new version of the Blade Handbook was revealed in October.

  • EUDP supports grand project headed by Bladena to reduce risk and O&M costs of wind turbine blades. Together will the entire value chain of 21 industry companies and 2 universities Bladena will for the next two years develop a cost and risk tool with a total budget of 28.8 million DKK (3.9 million Euro).
  • Bladena receives a large order on D-Stiffener™ for 75 blades.
  • ​​D-String® celebrates 5 years of operation.

  • First commercial installation of D-Stiffener™ in US and South America.
  • ​Bladena ​ strengthens its Board of Directors by welcoming Anders Søe-Jensen, former GE Offshore and Vestas Offshore CEO, as the new Chairman of the company. ​

  • ​In order to accommodate increased activities Bladena relocates to new facilities in Roskilde (near Copenhagen), Denmark.
  • Bladena further strengthens its international presence by partnering with Delta Power, Spain and Bladefence, Finland.
  • ​With a total of 19 partners Bladena was granted yet another EUDP project called RATZ. RATZ focuses on further technology development, the Floor.
    As earlier, the partners included in the project represent the entire supply chain in the industry.

  • First commercial D-String® installation in Abilene Texas, NextEra GE 1.5 MW turbine 37c.

  • Bladena enters into commercial partnership with service providers in Europe and US. Total Wind, Rope Partners and Broadwind Services.
  • ​Together with Total Wind, Vattenfall and DTU, Bladena successfully performed an up-tower field test of the first D-string® solution in a wind turbine at Tjæreborg Enge as part of the EUDP Bond Line project. The blade with the installed D-strings® has been in continuous operation since this installation.
  • Bladena forms a project team consisting of DTU, AAU, Vattenfall, DONG, E.ON, RWE, Total Wind, Rope Partner, Blaest, DIS Engineering, DEWI-OCC, ECC, Aeroblade, Kirt-Thomsen and Boving Horn. The purpose of the project is to demonstrate and develop a retrofit solution for increasing the cross-sectional shear stiffness of the blade cross-section in order to mitigate the blade transverse shear deformation of the cross-section. The project obtains financial support from EUDP and the development starts in July 2013.

  • Bladena forms a project team consisting of DTU, AAU, Vattenfall, DONG, Total Wind, DLR and Baumer with the purpose of developing our new D-string® up-tower blade retrofit product. The project obtains EUDP approval and financing in June 2012, and the development project starts in August 2012.

  • ​Bladena is founded as a spin-out from DTU Wind (Former Risø DTU) based on the technology and solutions developed over the last decade by the structural blade research team. Dr. Find Mølholt Jensen led the groundbreaking research at DTU Wind in failure modes and methods to prevent failures. He is the inventor of Bladena’s 7 founding patents, and today holds the position as the Chief Technology Officer.
