Case 8 - D-TE™

Problem

Picture
The blade had approximately 0.5m of the pressure side shell at the tip torn away and liberated from a lightning strike. The trailing edge could be seen separating as the blade rotated.  D-TE™ was utilized as a temporary repair to bond the trailing edge and close the opening from the liberated pressure side shell to allow the turbine to operate until weather conditions allow a full repair.

Solution requested

Temporary repair to keep the blade operating until a full repair could be performed.
